Panama’s history in the World Series

This will be Panama’s fourth appearance as a region in the Little League World Series, following the tournaments of 2022, 2023, and 2025. The expansion of teams from 16 to 20 in 2022 introduced a direct‑qualification rotation among Panama, Puerto Rico, and Cuba, ensuring that each year one of these countries earns a direct spot.

  • 2022 – Aguadulce Cabecera won the national championship 12‑0 over La Villa de Los Santos and finished 1‑2 in Williamsport.
  • 2023 – Club Activo 20‑30 of Santiago de Veraguas beat Aguadulce Cabecera in the final and also finished 1‑2.
  • 2025 – Vacamonte defeated 4‑0 Aguadulce in the Panamanian final and ended the series 1‑2.

The Doleguita representation is the second time a team from Chiriquí Province has reached Williamsport; the first was in 1993, when they reached the final and finished second, the best Panamanian performance to date.

Preparation and expectations

The squad is preparing in Williamsport with the aim of replicating the success of its predecessors. Qualification was achieved after winning the Panamanian Little League national championship in March. Manager Edwin Del Cid Perén emphasized the importance of discipline and team cohesion to face the best from each region.

On August 21, at noon, the Doleguita team will make its debut in the World Series, facing teams from other regions under the competition’s structure.

Next steps

Players and coaches will continue intensive training at Williamsport facilities until the tournament begins. The team is expected to compete in the group stage, with the possibility of advancing to the elimination rounds.

The Chiriquí community and Panama supporters are watching closely, hoping the team will have a memorable run in the 2026 Little League World Series.
